THE DIABETIC FOOTCARE PROGRAM IS TEMPORARILY ON HOLD
The Fort Frances Family Health Team provides foot care service for diabetic patients, elderly, and individuals who are unable to provide their own foot care. The foot care program is delivered by the Registered Practical Nurses at the Family Health Team. The role of our nurses is to provide foot care and health teaching to our patients to prevent foot problems and serious complications, through early detection. Our foot care program is designed to provide patients with the best practices, knowledge and information required to take responsibility for the health and well-being of their feet. Access to Footcare is by provider referral.
Services provided are:
- Assessment of feet and nails
- Toenail trimming and filing
- Assessment and treatment of dry skin, callouses, corns, and ingrown toenail
- Treatment of plantar warts
