What is a Nurse Practitioner (NP)?
A Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class with advanced university education specializing in Primary Care. Our NPs work independently and in collaboration with members of our clinical team as well as our physician group.
Our NPs provide a variety of healthcare services to patients across the lifespan.
Examples of services provided by our NPs include:
- Assess, diagnose and treat illness
- Health assessments
- Prescribe medications
- Well woman clinics including PAPs
- Cancer screening
- Referral to specialists
- Manage chronic diseases
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Mental health services
- In office procedures (ear flush, biopsy, etc.)
